Her stories always captivate my attention. I would love the opportunity to sit with her longer & hear more of her stories.
We start our conversation discussing LUCK ... or lack of it! This then progressed to our belief or lack of belief in horoscopes. I shared with her a story of my own, about a time when my mother in law called me to advise me that she had called Keisha whom was a psychic medium here in Queensland & asked for her lucky numbers. Keisha gave her 3 lucky numbers & then my mother in law rang me to tell me what they were. She encouraged me to place a bet on the Melbourne cup using these 3 numbers. I thought that this was all gobbeldy gook & disregarded her tip. To my absolute astonishment, the 3 numbers she gave me ended up being the trifecta in the Melbourne Cup! So it has to make you wonder was it a coincidence or something more than that.
The conversation progressed to a discussion on her belief in the spiritual world. She told me about her great grandmothers house & the haunted bedroom that she believed was within. She explained how as a child the room was rarely entered because it was believed that the spirit of her great grandmother's sister was a resident in the room.
In the 1870's her great grandmothers 17 year old sister fell ill suddenly from what was called 'galloping consumption' a deadly form of tuberculosis. There was no treatment for this disease & as a result she was quarantined in an attempt to prevent the spread of the disease. Her death was violent & swift. After her death every piece of furniture, soft furnishings, clothing etc was incinerated.
The room was locked up for many, many years for fear that germs may still exist within. Many years passed before the door was opened once again. The room was aired, painted & was used for a linen cupboard come storage space.
My client remembers her time within this house with fond memories except for her experiences within this one room. She tells of a time when she was only 10 years old. Her grandmother had sent her to this room to fetch something. She said she entered the room & was fine for the first few moments. Suddenly for no apparent reason she felt extremely cold & fear filled. Just as she reached for what she was fetching she felt the firm grasp of a hand on her shoulder, it rested on her shoulder for what she described an extended period of time. As she turned to see who it was there , she saw no one. She quickly exited the room & never went in there again.
As she speaks of this experience in her life, she recalls it with real clarity. Clarity of both memory & the feelings associated with it. It definitely seemed 'real' to her!
Some things that happen in life are simply unexplainable!
yeah i agree...and to me that makes life cool...becuase if the unexplainable could not happen...would be believe in miracles...
ReplyDeleteYes, i can relate to this too--and ahve had a similar experience with a hand on my face. Scary. I am not sure it is the spirit of dead people though as much as angels or demons masquerading or even a time warp/wrinkle of sorts. I don't know. I like life having mystery though
