The Garden - The Mag # 191

le Jardin, 1962, by Max Ernst

Zephyrus the messenger of spring blows gentle
Breathing life into the land
Rest your eyes upon her beauty
Notice the curves, those sensual points of inflection
Feel her godly perfection
Behold her succulent, fertile garden
Taste the lusciousness of her fruits and inhale her perfume
Restore your senses and spend some time with her
She has so much to give
Enjoy the pleasures of your garden.

Soaking it Up!

Fresh!

Sweet mountain air!

Invigoratingly alive!

Standing at the top of the plateau, looking down upon the lowlands below, there was a realisation of how very small we really are on this planet. I looked on for ages watching men bravely fly with the birds. They were jumping out into the blue, soaring through the skies on man made wings. I wondered what that must feel like, to feel nothing but the air surrounding you, floating , soaring with the birds in the sky. This kind of braveness I will never possess! Much to frightening for me...

A leisurely stroll. No need to hurry. I felt like I had all the time in the world to to soak up the days beauty, study the surroundings, the people & nature. There were little children playing with baby animals & riding on ponies. Couples of all ages walking hand in hand. The faint sound of a country musician strumming his guitar in the rotunda. The constant buzz of childrens motorized cars zooming around in a bumpered enclosure. There were children laughing, children crying, people scattered around on the grass, on logs or anywhere they could perch to grab a bite to eat. The mixed aromas of a variety of foods wofting through the air, it was a smell sensation. I found the atmosphere very pleasing indeed.

In the rain forest, I enjoyed the golden streaks of sunlight as it filtered through the trees. Tiny particles of leaf litter much too small & lite to settle on the forest floor . They were dancing around in the beams of light creating a glittering, shimmering light show. Closing my eyes I could hear the songs of many birds being carried on the wind. I thought to myself, this is peace. This is where peace is!

Life is so beautiful, when you take the time to listen, feel & smell the world around you. At times I really do feel that we rush through life at such a fast pace that we forget to soak up it's beauty.

The Dream

The Dream

Unknown Artist

She was awoken by a concupiscent dream. Startled with excitement, she jumped out of bed gasping for air,  her heart pounding within her chest. How was it that she could feel the lingering warmth of his skin on her body and why would she be dreaming of him this way anyway?
She took a deep breath, dismissed the guilty feelings she'd just experienced & exhaled. Laying back on her feathery bed, she succumbed to slumber. When she did, he was there again. She watched him intently, never taking her eyes off him. She studied his face, his eyes, the way his top lip curled up on one side when he smiled.  He aroused her in ways that surprised her. He was mysterious, strangely attractive and he stirred a sensual curiosity in her that she just couldn't ignore.
As if by magic, she was suddenly in his arms, her body trembling at his touch. He pulled her closer and rewarded her with a slow, languorous kiss. She welcomed his touch and surrendered herself to him, she was indelibly his.  He moved with her, sending spirals of rapturous pleasure rushing through her body. She had never felt like this before, ever! She exhaled, drew another breathe and held it.
BEEP....BEEP....BEEP
Hitting the snooze button she yelled out "No, no, no .... Not now, not now!'

Hee! Hee! Hee!   ;-)

Tick - Tock .... The Mag # 189

Tick
Tock

Your five. Time is only a word. You measure time by when the sun comes up and goes down. By when you're parents come home from work. By breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's easy!

Tick
Tock

You're 15. You want to be 20. Time is a pain in the butt because you just aren't quite old enough to be totally independent. You're life is full of possibilities and dreams and you want to start, yesterday. Nothing happens fast enough. You're still having to ask permission to do this and that. You're caught in the in-between (childhood & adulthood) and time is holding you back.

Tick
Tock

You're 25. You've found love. You've married and had children. You're working hard to make a living and you're wearing a multiplicity of hats. There is just sooooo much to do. It's still good though and you're really too busy to worry about time.

Tick
Tock

You're 35. Time is marching on. You stop one day and you notice your children are almost grown. You say to yourself, " I can't believe it. Where did the time go?"

Tick
Tock

You're 45 and your children have finished school, they may have even left the nest. You have an  epiphany and realise you're getting older & there is little you can do to slow time down. Time feels elusive. You begin chasing the years of your life.  There is still so much to do.

Tick
Tock

Now you're 60. You've past the halfway mark. You see the marks of time etched in your skin and settling in your joints. Time has robbed you're youth but time has also given you wisdom. You learn a new appreciation for time and use it wisely.

Tick
Tock

Your 95. You sit alone. You reminisce on times gone by and you wish with your heart of hearts to steal some time back. You think to yourself how lovely it would be to be 15 again!

"Time stands still for no one!"

Wanderlust!

I've had a yearning to do something for a long while now and the longer I move through life, the more I learn. With this learning grows a yearning. A yearning to see, experience and learn more about this beautiful world. This yearning has grown in intensity in recent months, so it would seem I have a serious case of 'Wanderlust.'
I long to see, taste, breathe, feel, hear and walk on foreign shores. I want my senses to absorb the atmosphere and soak up the scenery that lay before me. I want to watch the people & take in their culture.
I want to walk the ghostly paths of The Ancients and let my thoughts wander in amazement about how things once were. I want to move in the spaces that the great poets, artists, Lords & Kings once lived and breathed and ponder what their lives would have been like. I can only imagine the awe of being in such places.
My eyes will devour the diverse beauty of the land and sea. They will feast on all the wonders, both natural and man made, that these places have to offer.
I will of course sight see and visit all the "Must-See Places"; that's a given.  Anyone who knows me, knows that I appreciate the simple things in life & I love surprises. So, I will also delight in all the hidden curiosities and be enchanted by what I see in all the little nooks and crannies & by going down the paths less traveled.
So today I begin to plan ... plan my trip of a lifetime! I can't wait!
