WINTERLUST - Mag #165

Monhegan's Schoolteacher, 2004, by Jamie Wyeth
She paused for a while to rest her eyes. She had lost herself in this book for the last several hours. It was a good book, a good romantic novel. The kind she liked.
She looked out the window & was mesmerised.  She began to wonder how the powdery snow would feel upon her naked body and watched as the crystalline flakes fell from the sky. Each flake glistening and floating till it kissed the ground. Moonlight and starshine shone down from the heavens, lending their light to the pristine white; creating a blanket of diamonds upon the earth outside.
Inside was toasty, heat radiated from the open fire place warming her bare skin. The window was painted by a curtain of frost, as she touched it she could feel the bite of the cold outside.
Something about this was exhilarating, causing a sensual awakening within her. In that moment she wondered what was taking him so long and wished he would hurry back.

GRATITUDE

Sometimes it's easy to get bogged down in thoughts that cause nothing but heartache. It's easy to fall into the crevasse of negative thinking but it really is such a useless, waste of time and energy. It's a place void of warmth, love and happiness.
I know this because I myself have ventured into that crevasse of nothingness & it's not useful at all.  It's a dark place..... and it really IS just a waste of time and energy.
I have found that the best medicine for such self destructive thinking is to simply take pause.     To stop & realise what you already have.

Springtime Dreams - Mag #164

Spring, 1935 by Kuzma Petrov-Vodin

Inspired by picture prompt from THE MAG

Springtime Dreams

Her thoughts floated away on the springtime breeze

The imagery in her head was alluring and addictive

He was the object of her affection, yet he knew nothing of her feelings for him

So preoccupied in thought was she that she failed to notice his attentive gaze upon her

With her eyes cast toward the azure skies, his eyes were drawn to her beautiful & flawless skin

His mind was a torrent, overflowing with lustful thoughts about her

Thoughts about what it would be like to be with her; really be with her

To feel her soft gentle hands upon his skin

He wondered what it would feel like to hold her against him

To envelop her in his arms and move with her in the art of love

All it would take, was for him to reach out

To pull her to him and take the chance

Then all her dreams & fantasies would come true.

An Empyrean Wonderland - The Mag #163

Woman With a Towel, 1898, Edgar Degas

An Empyrean Wonderland

I wonder if you are aware of this disturbance you cause
You stand there before me with such bountiful beauty
My eyes follow your curves and you provoke an invasion of lustrous thought
You awaken a desire in me that is both dangerous and exhilarating

You're body is intricate by design
A masterpiece
A feast for the eyes
Your siren-like beauty is beguiling and seductive
You incite a wanting in me that causes me to ache inside

With my minds eye, I make love to you
I feel the velvety warmth of your body under mine
I breath you in, stealing your scent
My lips, my tongue trace the salty curves of your heavenly body
And I want you now more than ever

You are woman!
An Empyrean Wonderland
and
In you I could be lost forever

Safe & Sound - Mag #162

Between Heaven and Hell, 1989 by Jacek Yerka

These mud brick walls are safe and sound,
innocuous & blessed.
The world outsides a tumultuous realm,
of disorder and unrest.

Sometimes I see the wonderment,
of the beautiful world outside
Other times I see the ugliness,
And I want to stay and hide

The path to good or evil,
Can be a slippery slope
It's best to make good choices,
And live with love and hope.

With hope that things get better
The hope that war will end
That people will help eachother
That foes will become friends
