This is a pink magnolia .. one of my favorite flowers

Point Danger

A few short weeks ago my husband and I took off on a weekend retreat together, just the two of us. We started the weekend with a lovely dinner at Twin Towns followed by fantastic rhythm n beat of the Oz Latin Brothers. It was a beautiful, soul reviving evening.
The following morning we were spoiled with a yummy buffet breakfast and a drive up the the Captain Cook Memorial Lighthouse at Point Danger.

The weather was absolutely awesome, beautiful blue skies and calm seas. Fortunately Eddie & I have become accustomed to traveling with cameras & binoculars and we were able to see whales out in the distance, I only wish I had a lens for the camera that could zoom in that far away. It was breathtaking watching them breech out of the water.

The lighthouse is a memorial to Captain Cooks Travels, it was a very interesting place to visit and one that I will definitely be taking my children back too.

Time & Age

Time is the continuum of experience in which events pass from the future through the present to the past. It is both measurable & not! Time for us is not without end but time in regards to the world & 'it's' future seems endless.
Time marches on and our earthly bodies march along with it.
Funnily enough when I look at these rusty pipes I don't think of plumbing but of ageing. I envisage how these pipes would have once looked when they were newly installed. They would have been shiny & flawless.
I know that this middle aged, fairly healthy body that I inhabit at this point in time will weather and age as time passes on. The process has already begun! As wonderful as a time machine might sound there will be no travelling back in time to a time when my body was at it's prime, at least not in my time on this earth.

My skin will continue to crease & spot with age
My hair will grey
My waistline will expand
Parts of my body will head south
The sound & pitch of my voice may change
My sight may deteriorate, as well as my hearing
And my bones will ache & creak

.......much like these rusty old pipes.

Return to Paradise - Friday 55

Great Golden Beaches and alluring skies
White rolling waves and seagulls in flight
The blue of the water is calm and serene
Lets return to this place of whence we have been

This time......

We will sit by the ocean
With a good bottle of wine
Under the moon light & stars
It'll be so divine

Election confusion!!

At the moment we are in the midst of pre-election madness. I am pretty naive when it comes to politics and I know that I really should educate myself some more in regards to this fact but I find it all so ridiculous. I see the crazy pre-election circus that is referred to as a campaign and all I see is what looks and sounds like glorified school yard bullying or a cage of monkeys fighting over the last banana. It just seems so pathetic & ugly to me.
I am so confused with all the promises made and the slander being thrown from one party to the other & visa versa that I have absolutely no idea where to mark my X on the day. It is hard to have faith in either major party because both have lied to the voters before. Oh what to do!!

The Opportunity of Adversity!

Charles Darwin said " It is not the the strongest of the species that survive, not the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change"

Weekend Pictures.

Here are some more photos from our trip out to the coast yesterday. The top picture is on my youngest son. It was taken at Rainbow Bay Lookout. The views from the lookout were sensational.

A Day at the Coast

It was such a beautiful day we decided to go for a drive and we ended up one & half hours south of Brisbane at the gorgeous Tweed Coast. Just over the QLD & NSW border. The weather was spectacular as you can see from the photos. I only wish we could have stayed a few more days.
