Soaking it Up!

Fresh!

Sweet mountain air!

Invigoratingly alive!

Standing at the top of the plateau, looking down upon the lowlands below, there was a realisation of how very small we really are on this planet. I looked on for ages watching men bravely fly with the birds. They were jumping out into the blue, soaring through the skies on man made wings. I wondered what that must feel like, to feel nothing but the air surrounding you, floating , soaring with the birds in the sky. This kind of braveness I will never possess! Much to frightening for me...

A leisurely stroll. No need to hurry. I felt like I had all the time in the world to to soak up the days beauty, study the surroundings, the people & nature. There were little children playing with baby animals & riding on ponies. Couples of all ages walking hand in hand. The faint sound of a country musician strumming his guitar in the rotunda. The constant buzz of childrens motorized cars zooming around in a bumpered enclosure. There were children laughing, children crying, people scattered around on the grass, on logs or anywhere they could perch to grab a bite to eat. The mixed aromas of a variety of foods wofting through the air, it was a smell sensation. I found the atmosphere very pleasing indeed.

In the rain forest, I enjoyed the golden streaks of sunlight as it filtered through the trees. Tiny particles of leaf litter much too small & lite to settle on the forest floor . They were dancing around in the beams of light creating a glittering, shimmering light show. Closing my eyes I could hear the songs of many birds being carried on the wind. I thought to myself, this is peace. This is where peace is!

Life is so beautiful, when you take the time to listen, feel & smell the world around you. At times I really do feel that we rush through life at such a fast pace that we forget to soak up it's beauty.

BTW I really liked this line, "Life is so beautiful, when you take the time to listen, feel & smell the world around you." It's such a good reminder.

May you more days like the one you described:~)
