Hi everyone...it's been a very long time between writes but I'd like you to know that I am still here. About a month ago my husband and I took off for the day on our own. We took the 4WD and went on a mystery drive. We ended up heading toward the Lost World Valley a place I have never visited before but a place I will definitely be visiting again. We had the perfect day. Beautiful company, beautiful weather, beautiful scenery, beautiful solitude! I thought I would share some photos that I took on that beautiful day.

This tree was located in the valley at the edge of Lamington National Park... I couldn't help but take this photo...it reminded me of the tree of souls from the movie Avatar!

One of many creeks we crossed in the 4WD... don't know which one though

A beautiful little dairy calf..

OK, so this was a little rude of me to invade this bulls privacy like this... it seems he had a bit of an itch that needed a scratchin!

This photo really doesn't do this road much justice....it was such a long, long straight road

We're almost there ... almost at The Lost World Valley

I love birds...so I had to stop and take some photos of these beautiful Magpies

And we got held up a bit on the way by this herd of cows which were being round up by 3 cowboys... No, that's not right! It was 2 cowboys and one very beautiful cow girl!

Across another creek we go!

Past and old farm

And we're there

The Lost World Valley

These photos really don't do justice to how big this valley truly is ... it was massive and it was just like standing at the edge of an untouched world... amazing!
wow absolutely beautiful country...and love all the animals...tht herd is a bit intimidating though...ha...great pics kat and glad you had a great time
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian.. it is beautiful country and I love going for drives in the country... I find it very relaxing! The herd was a bit intimidating, I'm just glad we were in the 4WD & not standing out on the road. Cheers Kath
ReplyDeleteWow - I almost expected to see some shots of dinosaurs coming out from behind some trees in one of your shots - a la Jurassic Park ! What a beautiful, lush place. I can imagine you had a wonderful getaway.
ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you again Katherine - I too have been kept from posting and visiting. We had a busy time in Florida with a constant stream of visitors and now we're back into the swing 'up north'. It's shaping up to be a busy year.
Hope to see you by again sometime. soon.
Take care.
That's my kind of country. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. So lovely to see you blogging again.
