The 1920's Flapper - Theme Thursday

When I looked at this picture prompt I thought of " The Great Gatsby" & the roaring 20's..... so that's what I wrote about.

Silk gloves & Coat tails
Top Hats & Gowns
The music was roaring
There was a party down town

Bobbed hair & fringed skirts
Dancing & sex
A new breed woman
Recklessly frivolous

She's forward in nature
A giddy type girl
A smoker ... a drinker
She's no perfect pearl

These parties were busy
There was lots going on
Petting parties were a-happening
They were getting it on

Welcome the 'roaring twenties'
It was a time for progress
Less inhibited.. with more freedom
She's a 20's flapper no less

  4. wow, katherine, this is fantastic! you really caused this 'new breed of woman' to have a face that i could clearly see...i'll bet their moms would have died if they knew about the daughters who had been raised 'better than this'! such wonderful work, my friend, such a joy to read it!

  8. Hey Sheri... I find the 1920's a very intriguing time in history. Woman rebelling against the matriarchal influences in their lives....these being the flappers. A time of petting parties, bath tub gin, gangsters , bootleggers & organised crime...a V-E-R-Y interesting period indeed!

  13. Dear Katherine,
Thank you so much for reading and commenting on my posts...I have no doubt that you are one caring, loving soul!
You made me blush a dozen times while I was reading your words, I'm not sure I deserve all the credit you gave me, still blushing!
Your son is so lucky to have you, not many are so lucky...I know that very well.
Your post, tells me nothing but that, how deeply you "know" life, not through scratches on its surface but from inside..."You are Life". I'm sure your family will approve that.
Once again, thank you...and your words means a lot, please feel free to visit anytime.
