WHITE
White Christmas
White Wedding
White Magic
White Light
White is not like other colours
White is delightfully bright
It is a symbol of innocence
When white balloons fly high
To represent those little souls
Whom bad men made cry

White winged angels
Like those depicted in books
Bring a safe & warm feeling
To all those whom look
Is so pretty to see
White snow at Christmas time
Settling on the pine trees
White silken linen
Feel so good on your skin
Sheets smell so fresh & clean
You've just got to get in
White can be blinding
If it becomes way to bright
That is why the moon sits so high
In the dark of the night
When I think of this colour
I think of peace
White doves & waving flags
That symbolize an armistice
Clean
Pure &
Innocent
There so much meaning in white
White is quite brilliant
It is a beautiful sight
I like white!!

ReplyDeleteI love how you have described "white" it does sound so fresh, pristine and even relaxing. Great description.......:-) Hugs
ReplyDeleteBut one thing you forgot Katherine- I look horrid in white, lol! I am too fair skin, so I only wear it as a shell or in socks!
ReplyDeleteLove the clouds and thoughts of white in your poem...I need to get busy and write a few myself!

ReplyDeleteElizabeth, I don't look so good in white either but my hubby certainly does...with his lovely chocolate coloured skin! Hope your feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteHi Bernie, thanks so much for your lovely comment!
ReplyDeleteHi Brian... thanks for your comment! Here is Australia we have 'White Balloon Day' every year to raise awareness about sexual assault, in a hope that we can make Australia a safer place for our children! It is a campaign that has been happening now for 14 years. There are so many children out there, for whom the silence has been broken but there are still so many whom suffer in silence. It really is such a important cause!

ReplyDeleteI didnt know about Balloon Day.. I'll have to look into it. I made a short film abut this subject some years back. A naieve but heartfelt attempt.

Hiya Anthony ... thanks for the nice compliment! Yes, White Balloon Day is held sometime early September! I'm sure your film would have been great! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Mr Stupid!! I never feel right when I write your name ... but that's just me being me!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your lovely comment & it is for a very important cause! You have a good day too :)
I like what white and Deep blue do
ReplyDeleteyellow and white can be pleasant too
violet and white can shimmer- infact
my last home was painted with a 'whisper' series
of paint, catching light in a playful and subtle way. This home is more neutral sandy tones.
Nice~ I love white...fresh, clean...must be why I use a lot of bleach! ha.
ReplyDeleteWoW! Those White Balloons Look Quite Surreal.happy T.T. (I hope to be back next week)
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful thoughts on "white"!!
ReplyDeleteWhite Christmas is one of my favorite movies!

Blinded by the White! Just brilliant!! I'm one of those very pale gals who looks OK in white..it's the light bouncing off me!
ReplyDeleteNice meander on white!
ReplyDeleteI always see those angel illustrations as pushing the children into danger... -J
Thanks Gillian! :) Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteIzzy you're so right...white does look great accompanied with another colour! My home is also in neutral sandy tones. Thanks for coming for a read & for your nice comment!
Hey Betsy ... thanks for your comment. But a word of warning be very careful with the bleach & always use in a well ventilated area...a few years back I accidentally poisoned myself with the fumes from bleach whilst cleaning the grout in the tiles of the bathroom & didn't know I was till my throat closed up & I couldn't breath. So be safe!!
Thanks Tony! I can't take credit for the white balloon photo..I borrowed the photo from google images. Have a wonderful weekend Tony!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome Bach... and I am sorry because I don't think I actually commented on the bagpipes, only on the kilts... it was great! Thanks for popping over! Have a great day & a wonderful weekend!
Lyn I am very pale skinned myself.. when I was still in highschool (many, many moons ago) my friends used to give me heaps about the whiteness of my skin (not fair!)
I got called things like Lilly White Legs & Fluero Legs... and of course to make matters worse our sports skirts were black!!! Thanks for coming over Lyn & for your comment, Lovely!
Hiya Harnett ... thanks for visiting & for your comment! The angel in that particular picture is a 'guardian angel'... an angel of protection!!
Hi Katherine - another very poignant post! So sad to read about the abuse that goes on - innocence snatched away. Another mark of a sick world in need of healing.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of healing, I hope you're doing better now. Have a great weekend!
Hey Rick....thanks! Yes, it is terrible to think that this sort of thing goes on ... it's so sad!
ReplyDeleteI am so-so ... still not feeling the best. I think I need to take myself back to the doctors. One of the girls in the office was just diagnosed with glandular fever & apparently it is contagious. I will have all my finger, toes crossed in hope that I don't have that!!
Thanks for asking.. hope you have a great weekend. I guess that maybe you'll be up for some demolition!!
Pretty and white. I love all the feelings your reflection on white brings up.
ReplyDeletehope you have had a great weekend
I'm behind - graduations
