This isn't me
I'm not normally this way
But I'm so very mad
I've got lots to say
I walked through doors
There's bodies draped over chairs
They're sick & bleeding
It's as if nobody cares
The hallways are clogged
There are no more beds
For the sick & injured
To lay down their heads
Doctors & nurses
Stretched far too thin
There are so many people
But there's no room within
My anger is aimed
At the powers that be
Whom turn a blind eye
And pretend they can't see
The neglect that is caused
By these tight fisted dorks
Who rather spend money
On fireworks & sports
They need tend to this problem
It's worsening each day
Spend the dollars where they're needed
Without further delay
Our people are hurting
Lives being lost
Precious time is a wasting
At a terrible cost

ReplyDeleteAnyone would get mad at this...
ReplyDeletewhat a heartfelt piece,
ReplyDeleteit is sad of course.
A wonderfully written poem about a real problem. Perhaps you could send this to someone in a position to do something about it.
ReplyDeleteOm my gosh- this is awful- good for you to write this.
