My inner voice it shouts the truth
But my heart it struggles to hear
My head it also gets in the way
And fills my thoughts with fear
But what I'm beginning to realise
Is that a thought is simply that
A thought is not an action
So I need to crawl out from this trap
I found a safe place I can slide into
Where the light keeps shining through
A place that keeps me from the darkness
And keeps my hopes & dreams in view
I'm so glad I found this place
This place where I can BE
Where I can write a thought and share it
Without feeling judgmental eyes on me
I can feel my heart is filling up
Like a river after rain
My creative, thoughtful inner self
Is coming back to me again
I lost myself for a little while
But I hanging on this time
Making time for the things I enjoy
Like writing this little rhyme.
