The tiny hairs on my arms stand erect
My mouth's parched like the Simpson Desert
Pools of salty water moisten the palms of my hands
My heart beats to the rhythm of some kinda angry drum
I hate it when this happens to me
I have a very real fear of public speaking
Argh!!
Glossophobia!
when I was a young lad in school I would get so nervous when I had to stand before the class and give a speech that I would actually pass out....thank goodness as an adult the fear passed, now it seems you cant get me to be quiet in front of a crowd...lol

smiles. public speaking never bothered me...still got butterflies ...figured if i ever stopped getting them i was not speaking hard enough...
ReplyDeletebutterflies, or a little nervousness before you speak, may actually help you get started. thanks for your comments on the blog. funny how this amazing blogosphere, with all its links and comment, can also be so vulnerable to little quirks. btw-the shot of the Rude Kangaroo is a classic. I don't think I'll find such a shot here. Cheers to you.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, you're not alone, but I agree with others who say a few nerves are a good thing.
ReplyDeleteKatherine...
ReplyDeleteYou are going to speak in public?
I'm sure you did well
Excellent 55, and welcome back!!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
My ego is too big to get fear in public speaking. But I didn't know there was a name for fear of public speaking. Love it when I learn something new.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling, Katherine. The 'experts' say that it's among the top fears people have. Very nicely put in your fifty-five !
