Rainforest & Country
A few weeks ago my husband and I took off on our own for the day, just the two of us. We drove up to Mt Tamborine & decided to go a bit further up and went to O'Reilly's at Lamington National Park. We went for a lovely walk through the rainforest, had lunch at the Retreats restaraunt and then made our way home. Here are just a few of the 100's of photos that I took. It was such a beautifully relaxing day. Nothing brings me back to myself and into a peaceful state of mind like a day in the mountains & the country. Loved, loved, loved it!!

ReplyDeleteHello Katherine:
ReplyDeleteYou must be attuned to me, for I was thinking about - and there you were commenting on my blog, I was pleasantly surprised - it is always wonderful reading your comments, and even nicer is visiting your blog, and all the treasures you post, love the photo's and the angel well very special the dear one is, & good composition, the bird's well how can one go wrong with a bird photo shot, a nice close-up, I am not sure what the name of that particular one is -- looks familiar but certainly not from the Pacific North West where I live. Just wondering?

Katherine: You are perfect. I love people who enjoy their lives and the simple things Nature provides. Thank you for making my day a little brighter, as you always do.
ReplyDeleteBrian: Yes it is nice to escape, even if it is only for a day. I came home nice and relaxed.
ReplyDeleteDavid.. it is one of my favourite places to escape and it is a truly breathtaking place to visit. :)
JOanny: Thank you for your beautiful comment..the bird in the photo is a Magpie. She was very cheeky, hanging about for a bite to eat, but she was beautiful just the same. I think she actually enjoyed posing for the photos too.
JJ... I'm blushing!! Perfect, not so sure!! But I do enjoy natures beauty and what it does for me. I'm happy I made your day a little brighter, your posts do the same for me. Thanks :)
Gorgeous shots Katherine ! So nice to be able to get away like that and leave everyday life behind, even just for a little while. And even nicer that you got to take 'hundreds of shots' - I almost forgot that Eddie is also a photographer !
ReplyDeleteWe don't have magpies out here, but we did when we lived near Calgary - I always thought they were an attractive bird but others think they're just a nuisance.
Hello Rick.. yeh, we had a lovely day. The weather was perfect and being able be alone for a bit was wonderful. Thanks for the compliments on my pics. We had lots of fun taking them. I think Magpies are beautiful birds and they are extremely intelligent too. The only time they could really be considered a nuisance here is Australia is during nesting season in September when they become very protective of their nests.
ReplyDeleteOh they are beautiful and serene - what a wonderful get away
ReplyDeleteHope your family is doing well
hugs!!!
Great work Katherine! Really excellent shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful country we live in.
