Read Write Poem#118 - Wedding Day

Her coach appeared up a fern lined path
The sun had almost set
Flame lit torches cast a golden light
This day she'd never forget

Her bridesmaids waited with bated breath
As she appeared at the coaches door
She emerged just like a princess
This beautiful woman they'd grown to adore

Her bridesmaids in their turquoise frocks
Assisted her on her way
Adjusting her gown & fixing her hair
This was to be a memorable day

So nonpareil her beauty
A strumpet she was not
On this day no one else compared
Today she had the lot

The church doors were flung open
A bouquet of crimson roses in her hand
With her eyes cast to the alter
She cast her gaze upon her man

The church was full but all she saw
Was her future up ahead
With furtive thought she closed her eyes
and thought ... Today I'm going to wed!
